Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.
- Coordinate care activities, provide information, and secure assistance as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely processing of physician orders within scope of practice.
- Efficiently process patient admission, transfer, and discharge in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide clerical support to the unit and hospital, including maintaining unit information sources.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to evaluate and improve systems and processes that support patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- High school diploma required; Health Unit Coordinator/Medical Secretary Certificate or two-year degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a Health Unit Coordinator or Medical Secretary position preferred.
- Strong communication and telephone skills, with ability to prioritize and organize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer and clerical skills, with ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare team members.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.
