Job Title: Medical Assistant Family Medicine

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic clerical and office duties, including assembling documents and supplies, and effectively using computer applications.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor appointments, inpatient and outpatient admissions, tests, treatments, and procedures.
  • Maintain medical records and other information, and inventory of supplies.
  • Accurately document patient history, physical, and vital information into the medical record.
  • Perform business and financial duties, including assigning procedural and diagnostic coding to encounter forms, conducting pre-authorizations and referrals, and facilitating timely billing.
  • Perform clinical functions within acceptable standards of care, including prioritizing patient needs, recognizing and responding to emergency situations, preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas, and administering screening tests.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and interventions, and provide patient education as directed.
  • Report significant changes in patient condition or other pertinent patient information to the Physician.

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Resident or current Medical Assistant certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or 1 year of Medical Assistant experience or current RN/LPN license.
