Position Overview:

The Sales Executive will spearhead all sales initiatives within their designated territory, encompassing prospect identification, lead generation, sales engagements, and contract negotiations through to successful deal closure. This role requires collaboration to achieve sales objectives while upholding the highest standards of integrity, quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the customer relationship for the entire OpenGov team, driving account strategy and coordinating the pre-sales team to expand both new and existing customer accounts.
  • Establish and manage relationships with senior leaders in government organizations.
  • Generate new leads through networking, prospecting, and leveraging marketing initiatives.
  • Deliver sales presentations to various levels within leading government organizations.
  • Focus on departments utilizing Infrastructure and Asset Management solutions, Work Planning, Maintenance, and Capital Infrastructure.
  • Address product use cases, advantages, and business outcomes; facilitate follow-ups to close sales.
  • Engage in targeted account selling, including prospecting, qualification, and negotiation strategies.
  • Develop professional relationships with customers and prospects across all organizational levels, establishing referenceable clients to enhance the OpenGov brand.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement demand generation campaigns.
  • Lead contract negotiations effectively.
  • Work with Marketing on leads generated from events and campaigns, contributing to event strategy.
  • Manage the sales process and participate in planning meetings.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of OpenGov's product offerings and the competitive landscape.
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas consistently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in quota-carrying sales, with a background in software solutions preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to sales.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment.
  • Curiosity and openness to coaching on new challenges.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in closing complex, consultative sales.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Passion for technology and its societal benefits.
  • Ability to engage with senior executives regarding organizational direction and project funding.
  • Self-motivated, creative, results-oriented, and persuasive when necessary.
  • Competitive spirit and a drive for success.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably SalesForce.
