WSN is looking for a Senior Analyst in Business Risk and Controls to engage in a long-term consulting position with a prominent investment banking client.

The Senior Analyst in Business Risk and Controls is a highly experienced professional role. This position requires a deep understanding of disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the creation of innovative techniques and enhancing processes and workflows within the function. It necessitates the integration of subject matter expertise and industry knowledge within a specific area. A comprehensive understanding of how various areas interconnect within the sub-function is essential, along with the ability to coordinate and contribute to the function's objectives and overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate governance and execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA), ensuring risk assessments and approvals are in line with business changes.
  • Contribute to the quality and accuracy of the Control Framework implementation, including Risk Control Policy and Control Standards, primarily within an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Assist in identifying root causes of issues, collaborating with control and process owners to recommend comprehensive corrective actions and improvements.
  • Support the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, monitoring control breaches and sharing insights across business units for process enhancements.
  • Influence decision-making regarding the design and management of controls to mitigate risks as per Control Standards.
  • Conduct analyses to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the MCA through quality controls.
  • Support adherence to the MCA Standard through post-execution controls.
  • Contribute to Operational and Compliance Risk management in accordance with established policies.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify, assess, and manage risk exposures across various Risk Categories.
  • Perform analyses to support Risk Appetite and monitor exposures accordingly.
  • Assist in identifying and responding to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Analyze governance and training adequacy for managing Risk profiles.
  • Evaluate risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business.
  • Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring risk and control responsibilities are embedded within the business units.
  • Engage in the implementation of standards and procedures that align with enterprise requirements.
  • Utilize business knowledge to identify and implement control points throughout the organization.
  • Assess risks in business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and compliance with laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with workflow systems such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Proven experience in managing Manager Control Assessments or Risk and Control Self-Assessments.
  • Strong relationship-building and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
