The Senior Analyst of Business Risk and Controls is a highly experienced professional role. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the formulation of innovative techniques and enhancing processes and workflows within the function. The role necessitates the integration of subject matter expertise and industry knowledge within a specified area. A profound understanding of how various areas interconnect within the sub-function is essential, as well as the ability to coordinate and contribute to the overarching objectives of the function and the business as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate governance and execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA), including the evaluation and approval of risks associated with business modifications.
- Contribute to the quality and accuracy of the Control Framework implementation, encompassing Risk Control Policy, Control Standards, and Issue Management Policy, particularly within a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) utilizing Agile methodologies.
- Assist in identifying root causes of issues, collaborating with control and process owners to recommend comprehensive corrective actions and enhancements.
- Support the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, monitoring control breaches and sharing insights across business units to foster process improvements.
- Influence decisions regarding the review and challenge process, ensuring effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as per Control Standards.
- Conduct analyses to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the MCA through controls prior to process execution.
- Support adherence to the MCA Standard through controls post-process execution.
- Contribute to Operational and Compliance Risk management in line with established policy requirements.
- Collaborate with the team to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures across various Risk Categories.
- Analyze and monitor risk appetite and exposures according to enterprise requirements.
- Assist in capturing and responding to Operational and Compliance Risk events accurately and promptly.
- Ensure adequate governance and training are in place for effective Risk profile management.
- Analyze risks related to New Activities and business changes, ensuring they are well understood and controlled.
- Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.
- Facilitate risk and control assessments for various programs, ensuring sufficient subject matter expertise is available.
- Promote the embedding of risk and control responsibilities within the function, contributing to training and leading by example.
- Engage in the implementation of standards and procedures that align with enterprise requirements for effective operational and compliance risk management.
- Utilize knowledge of the business and its offerings to identify and implement control points and processes.
- Evaluate risks in business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and safeguarding its assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with workflow systems such as Jira and Confluence.
- Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Manager Control Assessments or Risk and Control Self-Assessments.
- Strong relationship-building and management skills.
- Excellent communication and diplomatic skills are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
