Job Title: Senior Analyst in Business Risk and Control - AVP

Location: Fully Remote

Contract Duration: 6 Months with Potential for Extension

Work Schedule: Standard Business Hours

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Analyst in Business Risk and Control is a highly experienced professional role. Utilizes extensive disciplinary knowledge to contribute to the development of innovative techniques and enhancements of processes and workflows within the function.Integrates specialized knowledge and industry insights within a specific area. Requires a comprehensive understanding of how various areas work together within the sub-function and contribute to the overall objectives of the business.Assesses moderately complex and variable issues with significant potential impact, where the formulation of an approach or action involves evaluating multiple alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using diverse sources of information.Demonstrates strong analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate complex and dynamic information from various sources.Exhibits excellent communication and diplomatic skills. Regularly takes on informal or formal leadership roles within teams and is involved in mentoring and training new team members.Has a significant influence on project size and geography by providing advice, counsel, and facilitating services to others in the area of expertise.The individual’s performance directly impacts the work and outcomes of all teams within the area.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in coordinating governance and facilitating the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA), including the evaluation and approval of risks associated with business changes.Contribute to the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the Control Framework implementation, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, and Lesson Learned Policy, within a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) primarily using Agile Project methodology.Support the identification of root causes of issues, collaborating with control and process owners to recommend comprehensive corrective actions and improvements, ensuring appropriate escalation in line with Issue Management and Escalation Policies.Assist in implementing the Lessons Learned Policy, monitoring control breaches, and sharing insights across business units for process enhancements to minimize the recurrence of similar events.Influence decisions regarding the review and challenge process within the Financial Lines of Business (FLUs) on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as outlined by the Control Standards.Conduct analyses to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to process execution.Support adherence to the MCA Standard through controls following process execution.Contribute to Operational and Compliance Risk management in accordance with established Policy requirements.Collaborate with the team to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures across various Risk Categories, including Operational Compliance, Strategic, and Reputational risks.Perform analyses to support Risk Appetite and monitor exposures against this in accordance with enterprise requirements.Assist in identifying, assessing, recording, and responding to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring accurate and timely capture in accordance with requirements.Conduct analyses to ensure adequate governance and training are in place to support the management of Risk profiles.Analyze risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business, ensuring they are well understood and adequately controlled.Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.Perform analyses to support risk and control assessments for various programs, ensuring sufficient subject matter expertise is available for managing these risks.Ensure risk and control responsibilities are embedded within FLUs, contributing to training and leading by example.Engage in the implementation of standards and procedures that align with enterprise requirements and support effective operational and compliance risk management.Utilize knowledge of the business, products, or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the organization.Assess risks when making business decisions, demonstrating careful consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications:

5-8 years of relevant experience.Familiarity with workflow systems.Excellent project management and organizational skills.Exceptional relationship-building and management skills.Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
