Job Summary

The American Honda Motor Co. is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and implementation of innovative technical solutions in the areas of Mass Production, Business Planning, and New Model development. This role will be responsible for driving efficiency and excellence in manufacturing processes, ensuring the highest quality products, and meeting or exceeding Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement business plans, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies to improve product quality and reduce costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing issues.
  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Test, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical).
  • 6 years of equivalent experience required in lieu of a degree.
  • Manufacturing co-op/internship experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy to support industry-standard software applications.
  • Positive attitude, open-minded, and a team player.
  • Strong self-motivation and desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-managed and able to provide and set direction for others to be successful.
  • Demonstrates leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrates strong communication (verbal/written) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve complex problems through analysis to propose and implement appropriate countermeasures based on timing, quality, and cost.
  • Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage projects.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a production environment requiring PPE and lockout in manufacturing operations.
  • Manufacturing environment with the potential of working near hydraulic oils, cutting lubricants, ferrous and aluminum materials.
  • Hands-on investigation and troubleshooting within equipment to countermeasure issues and to determine improvement activity.
  • Working with hand/power tools, automation equipment, quality gauging, and instrumentation.
  • 50% office environment/50% manufacturing lineside activity.
  • 10-15 hours overtime per week possible.
  • Possible weekend or off-shift support as necessary.
  • Travel 5% (domestic & international).
