Position Overview
As an Inpatient Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists by ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package medications, including both sterile and non-sterile compounding.
  • Medication Distribution: Ensure timely and precise delivery of medications to designated areas.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventories of medications and supplies, conducting regular audits and inspections.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in the pharmacy by adhering to established procedures and documenting compliance accurately.
  • Effective Communication: Collaborate with fellow caregivers and patients, demonstrating professionalism and emotional intelligence in all interactions.
  • Technology Utilization: Employ information systems and technology to enhance workflow efficiency.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
  • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required upon hire.
  • Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred at the time of hire.

Skills and Experience
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and manual dexterity for extended periods.
