Position Overview:
Role Summary:
Utilize your expertise in recent healthcare advancements to create innovative clinical pharmacy programs; manage initiatives that address patient care needs; evaluate and report on the effectiveness of these programs; oversee training for pharmacy staff to ensure exceptional patient care; assist in managing clinical pharmacy operations alongside the Pharmacy Director.
- Must have graduated from an accredited pharmacy institution
- Completion of a residency program or equivalent clinical experience is preferred
- Board certification and specialized residency training are advantageous
- Must hold a valid pharmacist license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- Capable of performing duties as a staff pharmacist, clinical pharmacist, or clinical pharmacy specialist as necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate, design, implement, monitor, and modify pharmacotherapy plans tailored to individual patient needs for safe and effective care
- Demonstrate proficiency in procedures and functions relevant to patient care, and be willing to assist in any drug distribution environment when required, including the IV lab
- Stay informed about pertinent regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines governing the pharmacy profession, and establish internal controls to ensure compliance
- Serve as a primary resource for addressing therapeutic inquiries from healthcare personnel and provide education and mentorship to pharmacy staff and other stakeholders
- Supervise clinical pharmacists, providing constructive feedback and guidance, and execute necessary disciplinary actions
- Contribute to the pharmacy leadership team by offering insights for staff performance evaluations
- Remain updated on the latest pharmacy developments through seminars, professional organizations, and research to enhance job performance
- Promote the Methodist Health System on local, state, and national levels through activities such as publications, presentations, and research collaborations
- Support the creation and promotion of institutional pharmacotherapy protocols, clinical guidelines, and disease management programs, documenting relevant outcomes
