Contract Manager Assistant

We are pleased to announce the relocation of our corporate headquarters to a new location in Houston's Upper Kirby neighborhood.

The Assistant Contracts Manager will collaborate with the Director of Contracts and Risk Management to execute the Legal Department's short-term and long-term plan to improve operational efficiency in all aspects of in-house commercial contracting.

This role will assist the Director of Contracts and Risk Management and collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, business leaders, and others to deliver superior service and maintain accountability.

Analyze, review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, ranging from standard to mid-level complexity in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Ensure internal approvals are received for contract deviations that arise during negotiations.

Track critical contract dates, deadlines, and progress on contract-related tasks and following up with internal stakeholders to drive progress.

Participate in meetings regarding contracting needs of internal stakeholders by developing agendas, determining action items, documenting, and following up on action items.

Draft, review, and proofread various other legal documents.

Update contract checklists and instructions to be shared with internal stakeholders and Legal team.

Collaborate with Director of Contracts and Risk Management to review resources related to contracts matter management, document management, Office 365, SharePoint, and other technology solutions for improving efficiency and management of electronic files and recordkeeping.

Aid in development of contract management team member(s).

Prepare and send reports to Director of Contracts and Risk Management and senior management, as requested.

Collaborate with Director of Contracts and Risk Management on special projects.

Communication/Building Relationships

Project Management

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Requires at least 3 years of relevant contract review experience required.

Knowledge of contract structure and ability to identify specific provisions required.

Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience with SharePoint, DocuSign, Evisort and Litera preferred.
