Job Description

Job Title: Board Manager

The Syrian American Medical Society Foundation is seeking a dedicated and performance-driven professional to manage all aspects of Membership & Events.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of membership, from outreach and acquisition to retention and relationship management, and the successful execution of society programs and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement member recruitment campaigns and retention strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of the membership process including applications, renewals, and database management.
  • Serve as central point of contact for membership chapters.
  • Communicate effectively with members, addressing queries, needs, and complaints promptly.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure member satisfaction and consistency in member communications.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics related to membership growth and generate reports to inform member engagement strategy.
  • Develop membership marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to improve member services and programs based on member feedback and needs.
  • Represent the Syrian American Medical Society Foundation at key events.
  • Oversee the organization and execution of society programs, meetings, conferences, workshops, and chapter events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred) with at least three years related work experience in membership or fundraising with preference given to those with association and/or nonprofit experience.
  • Experience supporting C-Level Executives and Board coordination and support.
  • Excellent customer service skills and attitude.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and membership/development databases are required.
  • Experience with Growth Zone preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to travel within the United States.
  • Some moderate lifting (up to 25 pounds) may be required on an occasional basis.
