Job Description

The Federal Reserve Board is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented graduate student to join our Research Library team as a paid summer intern. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in library services, data management, and research support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support data catalog maintenance and expansion, including cataloging data assets and metadata maintenance.
  • Assist with technology and software improvements, such as migration to new systems and documentation of code and processes.
  • Enhance and maintain metadata for DOIs through Crossref and citation reports.
  • Contribute to taxonomy and authority control development to support interoperability of the Federal Reserve Subject Taxonomy and Federal Reserve Authority of Names.
  • Research and prepare a report on library and information systems best practices in support of the Research Library's strategic plan.
  • Assist with outreach and marketing efforts to promote the Board's research and data assets.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Enrolled in a Master's degree program in library or information science at an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Graduating fall 2025 or later.
  • Knowledge and interest in library technology.
  • Attention to detail, initiative, and good communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of metadata.
  • Python and/or coding skills are a plus, but not required.
