Job Overview:

As an Avionic Assembler, you will engage in a variety of straightforward tasks to construct, assemble, wire, and solder electrical and electronic panel assemblies, printed wiring boards, and harnesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize wiring diagrams, operation sheets, and assembly workbooks to execute various tasks essential for the accurate construction of electrical and electronic panel assemblies, printed wiring boards, and harnesses.
  • Employ both automatic and manual tools to secure terminals, connectors, splices, solder, sleeves, and contacts onto wires at multiple termination points.
  • Operate a soldering iron to effectively solder pins and wires onto connectors, relays, and other components.
  • Utilize hand tools to assemble, route, tie, and install components on harnesses, black boxes, subassemblies, and related assemblies.
  • Apply protective coatings and perform touch-ups as necessary, ensuring all assemblies meet military standards and high reliability specifications.
  • Complete assemblies by terminating wires to various connection points, ensuring secure assembly using appropriate fasteners.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies by replacing defective wires, connectors, and components, and perform simple repairs on printed circuit boards.
  • Maintain documentation of operations performed and follow good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications:

Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-1 year of relevant experience. The ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions is essential.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with a manufacturing environment and tooling, as well as a basic understanding of electronic theory and manufacturing processes, is preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is performed onsite at a designated facility, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Lockheed Martin supports various alternate work schedules for enhanced flexibility.
