Logistics Import Coordinator

Our client, a prominent player in the freight forwarding sector, is seeking a qualified Logistics Import Coordinator to enhance their operations.

Position Overview: The Logistics Import Coordinator will oversee the importation of goods, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations while delivering outstanding customer service. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in CargoWise, a thorough understanding of import logistics, and the capability to manage various tasks in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete importation process, including tracking shipments, managing documentation, and facilitating customs clearance.
  • Leverage CargoWise software to effectively manage and monitor import shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including customs and trade agreements.
  • Prepare and verify import documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to guarantee timely and precise delivery of shipments.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and providing regular updates on shipment progress.
  • Analyze import data to identify trends, enhance processes, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in import logistics.
  • Work closely with other departments, including export and logistics teams, to ensure cohesive operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in import logistics, ideally within a freight forwarding context.
  • Proficiency in CargoWise software is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and international trade agreements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with additional logistics software and systems is advantageous.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
