Position Summary

The Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Manager plays a vital role in the Office of Research Integrity, focusing on the development and maintenance of a robust post-approval monitoring program. This program is essential for ensuring compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies within the human research protections framework. The manager will engage in monitoring and auditing activities to uphold the integrity of research practices.

The QA/QI Manager will be responsible for:
  • Conducting thorough post-approval monitoring of human subject research to ensure adherence to approved protocols.
  • Generating detailed reports for stakeholders, including the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
  • Collaborating with various program stakeholders to identify and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of research practices and IRB procedures through independent reviews.
  • Preparing and presenting programmatic data to leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of federal regulations regarding human subjects.

Preferred:
  • Experience in a research compliance setting, particularly within academic or clinical environments.
  • Familiarity with post-approval monitoring processes.


Key Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of ethical principles and regulations related to human subjects research.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess program data effectively.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and electronic submission systems.
