Position Purpose:
Under supervision, execute all maintenance tasks, including preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all machinery throughout the facility.
Key Job Activities:
- Conduct diagnostic assessments on machinery and perform necessary repairs promptly to ensure optimal operational readiness.
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance daily on diverse equipment, including:
- Fire tube boilers and related systems, steam delivery mechanisms, water treatment apparatus, air handling units, commercial washing machines, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor setups.
- Incineration process equipment maintenance, covering burners, emissions monitoring systems, high-temperature refractories, controls, PLCs, combustion air blowers, pressure regulators, and conveyance systems.
- Steam turbine and electrical generator systems.
- Air pollution control systems, including baghouses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, and carbon filtration units.
- General air pneumatic systems, including compressors, regulators, solenoid valves, and pneumatic pumps.
- Perform light electrical maintenance on all facility equipment, including various power systems. Experience with PLCs and light robotics troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Engage in general maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment, supporting Stericycle's commitment to safety.
- Document maintenance activities through completed work orders based on priority and scheduling.
- Execute other related responsibilities as required.
Experience:
Education equivalent to an Associate's Degree from a technical institution or relevant work experience. A minimum of three years of related experience and/or training is required, demonstrating the capability to identify and perform necessary repairs to ensure scheduled operations. Familiarity with forklifts, man-lifts, and rigging equipment is essential. Certifications in boiler operation, welding, or electrical work are beneficial. Experience with lockout/tagout and confined space programs related to maintenance tasks is necessary. Proficiency in general air pneumatics, including compressor operation and maintenance, is required. Candidates should be adept in using power tools associated with metalworking, including drills, saws, grinders, and pneumatic hammers. The ability to use welding equipment for steel repairs is essential, and knowledge of hydraulic systems and the ability to interpret hydraulic flow diagrams is preferred.
