We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Refrigeration Specialist to join our team in the Indianapolis area. Aegis Worldwide collaborates with a leading manufacturer and is looking for candidates with a solid background in industrial refrigeration systems, facility equipment, chemical handling, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and experience with boilers, chippers, and compressors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety in all operations
  • Ensure seamless operation of assigned machinery
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Monitor and assess the performance of the ammonia refrigeration system
  • Analyze system data to identify maintenance needs
  • Document contractor activities related to the refrigeration system and support the PSM Program
  • Contribute as a member of the Emergency Response Team
  • Provide training to Maintenance Technicians on refrigeration system operations

Qualifications:

The Industrial Refrigeration Specialist will oversee the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of plant utility equipment, including but not limited to: ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, water treatment systems, cooling towers, pumps, and HVAC systems. This role requires frequent collaboration with various employees in the maintenance department and other departments. The specialist will assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring compliance with IIAR, ASHRAE, ASME, EPA, OSHA, and relevant state and local regulations. A strong focus on ammonia (NH3) refrigeration experience and PSM compliance is essential, along with mechanical proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and operating comprehensive plant systems.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, including multi-stage ammonia compression systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex electrical control systems
  • Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Experience with screw compressors and evaporative condensers
  • Knowledge of safety standards for ammonia systems as per IIAR guidelines
  • Familiarity with boiler operations and inspections
  • Experience in facilities plumbing and pipefitting
  • Maintenance of air compressors and air dryers
  • Understanding of rapid roll door operations and dock loading/unloading systems
