Job Summary

Heritage Environmental Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead our drum operations team at our industrial waste treatment plant. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of our plant, while also driving financial performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Safety: Ensure Health & Safety is the top priority by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, and maintain a thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry.
  • Operational Excellence: Review production and/or schedules to plan facility operations, establish priorities and sequences to ensure productivity and quality, and resolve operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Team Management: Interview, hire, train, manage, evaluate performance, discipline, and discharge employees in accordance with Corporate HR programs.
  • Financial Management: Monitor cost of operations to ensure proper pricing and profitability, review and manage department expenses, and prepare and audit various mandatory reports.
  • Customer Service: Facilitate strong interactions between inter-plant departments, as well as corporate groups, and provide excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
  • Emergency Response: Serve as a member of the Plant Emergency Team, and be one of a few incident commanders on staff.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor facility operations and programs for adherence and efficiency improvements, and lead in effective responses to emergency situations.
Requirements
  • Education: Four-year college degree required, engineering or science discipline preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of related hazardous waste operations and/or chemical plant operations/supervisory experience with reasonable P&L understanding required.
  • Knowledge and Abilities: Thorough knowledge and understanding of all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry, excellent interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and ability to motivate employees.
