JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIMARY DUTIES

Under the guidance of the E3 Children's Museum Education Coordinator, the facilitator will:

1. Prepare and organize educational supplies and resources.

2. Compile and create educational content and museum information for various groups and organizations.

3. Collaborate with the marketing department to develop promotional materials for programs, including social media content.

4. Conduct educational programs and special events at the Farmington Museum System facilities and within the community, managing logistics such as travel, accommodations, reimbursements, and event setup and breakdown.

5. Assist in the development of educational materials for both permanent and traveling exhibits.

6. Oversee daily operations of museum facilities, programs, and special events.

7. Facilitate educational programs at the Children's Museum and other events within the PRCA Department.

8. Support the recruitment and coordination of volunteers for programs and events.

9. Manage daily operations at the Children's Museum, including the store.


Utilizing exceptional customer service skills, the facilitator will establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, officials, and the public.

Additionally, the role requires operating a motor vehicle to support departmental and city operations.

Attendance is a critical function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Program, which includes pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency is required.

High school diploma or GED equivalent is necessary.


Ability to plan and organize educational programming for children of various ages while collaborating with parents, caregivers, and other adults present.

Capability to work with groups of multi-aged children without adult supervision.

Ability to train and collaborate with both potential and established volunteers.

Proficient in using personal computers and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Ability to accurately document and maintain records.

Strong public relations skills are essential.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

Ability to perform under stress and manage stressful situations.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Capability to operate required tools and equipment.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Personal computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel, motor vehicle, calculator, copy machine, telephone, fax machine, and cash register.
