Job Title: Project Development Senior Associate

EDP Renewables is a global leader in the renewable energy sector, operating in over 25 markets. As a Project Development Senior Associate, you will play a key role in developing utility-scale renewable energy generation projects from identification to financial closing and start of construction.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Obtain local, state, federal, and regional permits for utility-scale wind/solar farms
  • Prepare proposals for submission to utilities
  • Secure land surface rights for project development
  • Identify suitable projects with wind/solar resources, electric transmission access, and site characteristics
  • Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including elected officials, regulators, utilities, RTOs, and community leaders
  • Participate in policy outreach efforts to government officials on wind/solar industry issues
  • Monitor Generation Interconnection studies performed by transmission providers and third parties
  • Manage environmental studies and permitting processes
  • Support financial analysis and modeling of projects
  • Manage project-level expenditures and invoice processing
  • Develop project budgets
  • Participate in interconnection agreement negotiations
  • Collaborate with internal resources, including Legal, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Investment Analysis, and Energy Assessment teams
  • Provide regular pipeline updates, project status updates, and other reporting documents to management
  • Research energy market and competition on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate information effectively to cross-functional teams
  • Negotiate and establish local agreements addressing tax abatement, Road Use, and Decommissioning
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible project management experience in the energy industry
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software; some knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software preferred
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
