Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of materials management, including production scheduling, planning, and control.
  • Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement within the facility.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as inventory turnover and order fulfillment rates.

Core Duties:
  • Serve as the primary authority for materials management at the site.
  • Optimize scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, and supplier performance.
  • Implement and uphold standard operating procedures for materials and SIOP processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to align with strategic business objectives.
  • Develop strategies to address underperformance in key processes and supplier relationships.
  • Lead and mentor materials personnel to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage supplier relationships and inventory in accordance with Lean Six-Sigma principles.
  • Support quality management systems by delivering high-quality products and services.
  • Strive for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in managerial responsibilities including planning, organizing, and delegating tasks.
  • Facilitate the selection process for suppliers in collaboration with Global Procurement leaders.
  • Encourage APICS certification among team members.
  • Design and implement a professional development framework for materials staff.
  • Ensure production plans align with the established SIOP consensus.
  • Enhance supplier relationships for improved collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
  • At least five years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing context that embraces lean methodologies.
  • A minimum of three years in a managerial role focused on planning standardization and talent development.
  • Experience in various manufacturing environments, including rate-based and job shop settings.
  • Proficient in operations, inventory management, and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with visual management systems.
  • Strong understanding of integrated information systems related to manufacturing and materials management.
  • Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach to internal support.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in relevant information technology systems used in materials management.

This position is classified as Safety Sensitive.
