Position: Plant Financial Leader

SALARY: $120,000.00
BONUS: 10%

Systems: EPICOR/SAP

The Plant Financial Leader is accountable for overseeing the fiscal management, strategic planning, and accounting functions of a manufacturing facility. This role typically includes supervision of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, as well as management and financial reporting.

The Plant Financial Leader plays a crucial role in formulating both short-term and long-term strategies and forecasts aligned with business objectives. This position involves conducting financial and operational analyses of outcomes and offering alternative recommendations to enhance plant performance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Direct the financial and accounting operations of the plant, ensuring management decisions are informed by accurate financial statements, timely transaction processing, and compliance with internal controls.
2. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
3. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial transaction processing.
4. Coordinate the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
5. Maintain a comprehensive system of accounts and ensure timely account reconciliations.
6. Generate internal reports and update them for management decision-making, including variance analysis.
7. Provide recommendations to plant management aimed at enhancing both short-term and long-term financial outcomes.
8. Review financial standings and key control issues with plant management quarterly.
9. Collaborate with internal audit teams to address control-related tasks and rectify audit findings.
10. Manage profit forecasting, annual budgeting, and month-end closing activities for the plant, preparing financial analyses and scenarios as needed.


11. Oversee the capital expenditure process, collaborating with plant management on significant project analyses and ensuring accurate financial documentation prior to Board submissions.
12. Ensure detailed tracking of capital expenditures for all projects by plant accountants.
13. Provide training, guidance, and operational documentation to accounting personnel and other staff involved in financial activities.
14. Engage in succession planning within the plant.


15. Uphold and adhere to company policies and procedures, sharing beneficial information with team members and seeking ways to enhance service delivery to customers.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. 8+ years of experience in accounting with a comprehensive understanding of key accounting areas.
3. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years as a Plant Accountant or in a similar role, with a solid grasp of plant operations.
4. Strong knowledge of standard financial/accounting practices, GAAP principles, and internal controls.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.
6. Proficient in general ledger systems and inventory management.
7. Capable of analyzing complex issues and effectively communicating findings.
8. Strong interpersonal skills to lead and communicate effectively with management.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
10. Proficient in Word, Excel, and accounting software.
11. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and training capabilities to inspire and guide the team.
