The Plant Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial stewardship, strategic planning, and accounting functions of a manufacturing facility. This position typically involves managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the preparation of management and financial reports.

The Plant Financial Controller is engaged in formulating both short-term and long-term financial strategies aligned with business objectives, conducting thorough financial and operational analyses, and offering actionable recommendations to enhance plant performance.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Oversee the financial and accounting operations of the plant, ensuring accuracy in financial statements and timely processing of transactions.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
3. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
4. Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
5. Maintain a comprehensive system of accounts and perform regular account reconciliations.
6. Generate internal reports and analyze variances to support management decision-making.
7. Provide strategic recommendations to enhance the plant's financial outcomes.
8. Review financial performance and key control issues with plant management on a quarterly basis.
9. Collaborate with internal audit teams to address control-related findings.
10. Supervise the profit forecasting, annual budgeting, and month-end closing processes, delivering financial analyses as required.
11. Manage capital expenditure processes, ensuring thorough financial evaluations of significant projects prior to board submissions.
12. Offer guidance and training to accounting personnel and other staff involved in financial activities.
13. Facilitate succession planning within the plant.


Essential Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, with a comprehensive understanding of core accounting principles.
3. At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years in a plant accounting role.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical capabilities.
6. Proficiency in general ledger systems and inventory management.
7. Ability to analyze complex issues and communicate findings effectively.
8. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with management.
9. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.
11. Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, fostering a motivated team environment.
12. Willingness to travel as necessary and eligibility to work in the U.S.
