Position: Plant Controller

The Plant Controller plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial stewardship, strategic planning, and accounting functions of the manufacturing facility. This position typically involves supervising payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the preparation of management and financial reports.

The Plant Controller is engaged in formulating both short-term and long-term financial strategies based on organizational objectives; conducting financial and operational analyses of performance; and offering actionable recommendations to enhance plant efficiency.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Oversee the financial and accounting operations of the plant, ensuring management decisions are informed by accurate financial statements, timely transaction processing, and compliance with internal controls. Safeguard assets through effective risk management practices and ensure adherence to credit policies and collection procedures.

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the integrity of financial transactions.

Coordinate the development of budgets and financial forecasts, preparing comprehensive financial reports.

Maintain a systematic approach to accounts management, ensuring timely reconciliations of account balances.

Generate internal reports and update them for management review, analyzing variances and trends.

Provide strategic recommendations to plant management aimed at enhancing both short-term and long-term operational outcomes.

Review financial standings and key control matters with plant leadership on a quarterly basis.

Collaborate with internal audit teams to address control-related findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Oversee profit forecasting, annual budgeting, and month-end closing processes, preparing detailed financial analyses as required.


Manage the capital expenditure process, collaborating with plant management to analyze significant projects and ensuring financial documentation is prepared accurately prior to Board of Director submissions.

Ensure that plant accountants maintain meticulous tracking of capital expenditures for all projects.

Provide training, guidance, and operational documentation to accounting personnel and other staff involved in financial activities.

Facilitate succession planning initiatives within the plant.


Adhere to company policies and procedures, sharing insights that benefit team members and continuously seeking ways to enhance service delivery to customers.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

8+ years of experience in accounting, with a comprehensive understanding of key accounting domains.

5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years in a Plant Accountant role or equivalent, with a solid grasp of plant operations.

Thorough knowledge of standard financial and accounting practices, GAAP principles, and internal controls.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Proficient in general ledger systems and inventory management.

Ability to analyze complex issues and effectively communicate findings.

Excellent interpersonal skills to lead and engage with business management.

Capacity to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.

Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and training abilities to inspire and guide the team by example.
Travel: Must be willing to travel as necessary and authorized to work in the U.S.
