Position Overview:

The Plant Financial Controller is tasked with overseeing the fiscal management, strategic planning, and accounting functions of a manufacturing facility. This role typically includes supervision of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the financial and accounting operations of the plant, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and compliance with transaction processing protocols.
  2. Guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  3. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring proper financial transaction handling.
  4. Coordinate the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
  5. Maintain a comprehensive system of accounts, ensuring timely reconciliations.
  6. Generate internal reports for management, analyze variances, and make recommendations for performance improvement.
  7. Review financial status and key control matters with plant management quarterly.
  8. Collaborate with internal audit teams to address control-related findings.
  9. Manage the annual budgeting process and profit forecasting for the plant.
  10. Oversee capital expenditure processes, ensuring thorough financial analysis of significant projects.
  11. Provide training and guidance to accounting personnel and other staff involved in financial activities.
  12. Facilitate succession planning within the plant.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, with a strong grasp of all major accounting areas.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years in a plant accounting role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial/accounting procedures, GAAP principles, and internal controls.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Proficient in general ledger systems and inventory management.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary and authorized to work in the U.S.
