Position Title: Senior Analyst, Credit Risk Strategy

Location: Carrollton, TX

The Community Choice Financial Family of Brands is seeking a dedicated Senior Analyst in Credit Risk Strategy. This role is pivotal in the design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated statistical models that underpin credit risk and collections for our consumer loan offerings. The ideal candidate will engage in extensive data collection and analysis, model construction, experimental design, and strategic recommendations aimed at managing customer risk, enhancing revenue, improving profit margins, and delivering substantial value to the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Aggregate and manipulate data from various reporting and production databases to facilitate advanced analytical tasks.
  • Identify and source both internal and external data necessary for optimizing predictive model performance.
  • Create customer risk models using both traditional statistical methods and innovative technologies, including machine learning.
  • Design and implement tests and experiments to continuously refine risk models, decision-making processes, and pricing strategies.
  • Utilize advanced statistical software to develop predictive models, underwriting strategies, and pricing frameworks.
  • Monitor the portfolio to assess changes in risk models, decision-making processes, and pricing strategies.
  • Apply innovative thinking to provide recommendations and solutions to complex problems.
  • Effectively translate and communicate data analyses into actionable insights and implementation strategies. Provide consulting support to various business units regarding credit performance.
  • Formulate credit strategies aimed at enhancing credit performance through data utilization, machine learning models, and advanced analytical tools to optimize risk decisions.
  • Summarize analytical findings and communicate relevant information to different management levels.
  • Maintain a consistent work schedule with regular attendance during standard business hours, committing to a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Meet the physical demands of the position, which include remaining stationary, moving freely within the office, and operating mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science).
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in decision analytics, risk modeling, or predictive statistics.
  • Proficient in advanced statistical analysis software and tools (e.g., SAS, R, SQL programming).
  • Experience in Financial Services and Subprime Lending is preferred.
  • Strong background in data architecture, data mining, and data integration.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive data research and manage large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proven capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Open to providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • A natural inclination to question assumptions and challenge conventional wisdom.
  • Experience in computer vision and image modeling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with common programming tools such as OpenCV, PyTorch3D, Tensorflow, OpenCL, and Jupyter is advantageous.
