Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnography Technologist II to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Polysomnography Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of polysomnographic procedures on patients with suspected sleep disorders. This is a contingent, non-exempt position that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Perform polysomnographic procedures on patients with suspected sleep disorders, including multiple sleep latency testing, oxygen monitoring, and electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring.
  • Administer CPAP and BiPAP ventilation as needed.
  • Collect and analyze data from polysomnographic studies to help diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders.
  • Provide patient education and support to help patients understand their sleep disorder and develop healthy sleep habits.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved two-year Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Registry as a Respiratory Therapist (or registry eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care) or Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist.
  • Current Ohio licensure or certification to practice respiratory care (Respiratory Therapist only).
  • Registered by the Association of Polysomnography Technologists or a technician eligible for registration within twelve months of employment as a Polysomnography Technologist.
  • Current CPR certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field.
  • Proficient in computer operations/technology.
  • One year's experience in Polysomnography.
Work Environment

This position is located at our Central Campus in Columbus, Ohio. The incumbent must be able to perform the following physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to thirty pounds frequently.
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time frequently.
  • Transporting equipment occasionally.
  • Reaching above the head, stooping, and kneeling frequently.
