Director of Development and Communications

The Tanzanian Children's Fund is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our development and communications efforts in the United States. As the Director of Development and Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, managing our donor relationships, and creating engaging communications materials to promote our mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to meet our annual and campaign-specific goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and foundation supporters
  • Collaborate with our leadership team to ensure alignment of fundraising activities with our strategic plan
  • Manage our donor database and CRM system to track and analyze fundraising data
  • Develop and implement an effective external communications strategy to promote our mission and goals
  • Oversee the production of high-quality communications and outreach materials, including email news flashes, blog posts, and annual reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience in fundraising and development
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively
  • Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Attention to detail in fiscal and written deliverables
