JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Fabrication Technician

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Director of Manufacturing

LOCATION: HQ, Gilbert, AZ

SALARY: $75,000 -$80,000 annual + benefits + stock options

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Fabrication Technician is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of components, weldments, and other products from various raw materials. This role requires proficiency in utilizing hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques. The technician must be adept at reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications, ensuring that all produced components meet both customer expectations and corporate quality standards. Participation in design reviews is essential to provide insights on manufacturability and assist other departments with vendor qualifications or audits as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret and analyze component and assembly drawings.
    • Determine necessary manufacturing and welding techniques to fulfill documented requirements.
    • Confirm that fabricated components and assemblies conform to specified dimensions.
  • Skilled in GMAW welding processes for mild steel components.
  • Experienced in GTAW welding processes for both mild steel and aluminum.
  • Proficient in using plasma cutting tools.
  • Basic knowledge of OXY/ACT torch operations.
  • Demonstrated skill with basic hand tools.
  • Proficient in operating power and machine tools.
  • Experienced in sheet metal layout and metal bending/forming techniques.
  • Competent in operating a CNC Plasma Table.
  • Ability to accurately utilize various measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.).
  • Commitment to upholding corporate quality standards.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Engage in design review meetings.
    • Collaborate with designers and engineers to select appropriate manufacturing practices.
    • Support other departments with vendor qualifications and audits.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience or equivalent education related to industry practices.
  • Proficient in using hand and machine tools.
  • Strong commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision.
  • Good physical stamina and dexterity.
  • Excellent vision or ability to use corrective lenses.
  • Specialized certification is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • May need to climb, balance, bend, or stoop.
  • Works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Operates specialized equipment such as welding machines and CNC Plasma Tables.
