The Behavioral Services Technician plays a vital role in the patient care team, contributing to the well-being and comfort of patients during their stay by providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Assist with patient assessments, vital signs, and other clinical tasks as needed.
- Support patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Participate in crisis prevention and intervention efforts.
- Document patient information and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Maine CNA Certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- 1 year of experience in Behavioral Health Services.
- College training in mental health technology, behavioral science, social work, rehabilitation therapy, or equivalent may be substituted for experience.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred at hire or obtained before completion of orientation.
- Ability to work well in high-stress situations and demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care.
