Job Title: Behavioral Health Therapist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team at Maine Immigrant & Refugee Services. As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will provide diagnostic assessments, individual child, adult, family therapy, and group work at our office, in client's homes, schools, and the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess individual and family situations
  • Provide a comprehensive level assessment of identified clients and family needs
  • Formulate and implement treatment goals and objectives
  • Work with community representatives toward development and implementation of treatment process
  • Implement trauma-informed principles
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to provide quality diagnostic assessments

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license
  • Strong computer skills, including experience using electronic client records, Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Two years direct clinical experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families preferred
  • Four years minimum requirement of total work experience in the social service field, before and after Masters level
  • Valid clinical license per Maine State, maintained by employee
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with multiple agencies
  • Creative and caring
  • Strong children's advocate
  • Able to be organized and to prioritize workload
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with multicultural populations
  • At least two years of work with evidenced-based trauma practices
  • Course work in family systems principles and family development and/or two years of combined pre- or post-graduate experience in work with children and families
