Position Summary

The Cannabis Retail Specialist will provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers, assisting them in understanding, selecting, and purchasing a wide range of cannabis products, including flowers, concentrates, edibles, and topicals. This role requires extensive knowledge of product efficacy, effects, aromas, and flavors, along with a friendly and compassionate demeanor. The Retail Specialist will also support the management team in daily operations while adhering to company policies and operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert knowledge and personalized service to customers by explaining the potential benefits of various cannabis products.
• Promptly address and resolve customer inquiries or concerns.
• Communicate any customer requests or unresolved issues to management without delay.
• Accurately process customer orders using the Point of Sale (POS) and inventory systems, in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Adapt to fluctuating sales volumes and maintain an engaging environment while ensuring the dispensary is well-stocked, clean, and organized.
• Achieve daily sales goals by following a customer-centric sales approach and making tailored product recommendations.
• Assist management in ensuring compliance with all operational procedures and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to a positive workplace culture by treating all individuals with respect and fostering a curiosity about cannabis.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager or Store Lead.

Qualifications

• Must remain informed and comply with all state cannabis agency regulations.
• Must meet the age requirement set by the state cannabis agency (21 years).
• Must successfully pass all background checks mandated by the state cannabis agency.
• Must be flexible with scheduling, including availability for varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Consistent and punctual attendance is required.

Education

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience

1-3 years of experience in a cannabis retail environment is preferred, along with prior customer service experience in hospitality, pharmacy, or retail settings.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent time management capabilities.
• Effective communication skills with customers and team members.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a dispensary setting, involving frequent interactions with staff, vendors, and customers. The role may also require engagement with law enforcement and occasional state inspectors.

Physical Requirements

The individual in this role will frequently communicate with customers regarding their medical conditions and product offerings. Must be capable of exchanging accurate information about products.

Regular use of computer/POS systems and standard office equipment is necessary.

The position requires the ability to remain stationary while checking in customers or operating the register.

Must be able to move and transport dispensary products weighing up to 30 lbs throughout the facility.

Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, and walk as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of a dispensary agent.
