Position Summary

The Cannabis Retail Specialist will engage with customers, guiding them in understanding, selecting, and purchasing from our extensive range of cannabis offerings, including flowers, concentrates, edibles, and topicals. This role requires not only a deep understanding of the products' benefits, effects, aromas, and flavors but also a friendly, approachable demeanor. The specialist will support the management team in store operations while adhering to established policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert knowledge and personalized assistance to customers, explaining the potential advantages of our cannabis products.
• Promptly address and resolve customer inquiries or concerns.
• Communicate any unresolved issues or requests to management without delay.
• Accurately manage customer orders using the Point of Sale (POS) and inventory systems, in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Adapt to varying sales volumes and maintain an active presence by engaging in continuous learning, creating an inviting atmosphere, and ensuring the dispensary is well-stocked, clean, and operational.
• Achieve or exceed daily sales targets by following a customer-centric sales approach and making tailored product recommendations.
• Assist management in ensuring compliance with all operational procedures and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to a positive workplace culture by treating all individuals with respect and fostering a curiosity about cannabis.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager or Store Lead.

Qualifications

• Must remain informed and comply with all state cannabis agency regulations.
• Must meet the age requirement as stipulated by the state cannabis agency (21 years).
• Must successfully pass all required background checks.
• Must be flexible with scheduling, including availability for varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.

Education

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience

1-3 years of experience in a cannabis retail environment is preferred, along with prior customer service experience in hospitality, pharmacy, or retail settings.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent time management capabilities.
• Effective communication skills with customers and team members.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a dispensary setting, involving frequent interactions with staff, vendors, and customers. It may also require engagement with law enforcement and occasional state inspections.

Physical Requirements

The individual in this role will frequently communicate with customers regarding their medical conditions and symptoms, necessitating the accurate exchange of information about product offerings. The position involves operating a computer/POS system and standard office equipment. The candidate must be able to remain stationary while checking in customers or operating the register and may need to transport dispensary products weighing up to 30 lbs. The role requires the ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, and walk as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of a dispensary agent.
