Position Summary

The Cannabis Retail Specialist will engage with customers to help them navigate, select, and purchase from our extensive range of cannabis offerings, including flowers, concentrates, edibles, and topicals. This role requires not only a deep understanding of the products' benefits, effects, aromas, and flavors but also a warm, engaging, and empathetic demeanor. The Retail Specialist will support the management team in daily operations while adhering to established policies and guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert knowledge and personalized service to customers by explaining the potential advantages of our cannabis products.
  • Promptly address and resolve customer inquiries or concerns.
  • Communicate any customer requests or unresolved issues to management without delay.
  • Accurately process customer orders using the Point of Sale (POS) and inventory management systems, in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Adapt to varying sales volumes, maintain an engaging atmosphere, and assist in keeping the dispensary well-stocked, organized, and operational.
  • Achieve daily sales goals by following the customer experience selling cycle and making tailored product recommendations.
  • Assist management in ensuring adherence to all operational procedures and compliance standards.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture by treating all individuals with respect and fostering a curiosity about cannabis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Must remain informed and comply with all state cannabis agency regulations.
  • Must meet the age requirement set by the state cannabis agency (21 years).
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • Flexible availability for varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.

Education

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.


Experience

1-3 years of experience in a cannabis retail environment is preferred, along with prior customer service experience in hospitality, pharmacy, or retail settings.


Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and team members.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a dispensary setting, involving regular interaction with staff, vendors, and customers, including occasional engagement with law enforcement and state inspectors.


Physical Requirements

The individual in this role will frequently communicate with customers regarding their medical needs and must accurately convey information about product offerings. This position requires regular use of a computer/POS system and other standard office equipment. The ability to remain stationary while assisting customers or operating the register is necessary. Additionally, the role involves moving and transporting dispensary products weighing up to 30 lbs. and requires the ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, and walk as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of a dispensary agent.
