Aquatic Safety Officer Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and manages the behavior of members and guests in aquatic areas.
  • Implements pool policies, rules, and regulations with a friendly and respectful approach.
  • Responds promptly to emergencies and executes appropriate follow-up actions, including first aid procedures.
  • Conducts water quality assessments and maintains accurate records.
  • Assists in the upkeep and cleanliness of the pool, surrounding areas, restrooms, and locker facilities.
  • Participates in assigned guarding rotations as directed by management.
  • Performs concierge duties at the pool as required.
  • Helps maintain proper chemical levels in the pool and spa as instructed.
  • Documents all incidents in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensures compliance with updated safety standards.
  • Keeps pump rooms organized and clean.
  • Attends training sessions and engages in team meetings.
  • Administers swimming assessments to evaluate patrons' swimming capabilities.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service to members and guests.
  • Collaborates with the Aquatics leadership team to address member inquiries.
  • Communicates member concerns to Aquatics leadership promptly.
  • Adheres to safety protocols to protect fellow employees, members, and guests.
  • Operates equipment safely and reports any hazards to management.
  • Works flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Follows departmental and Club policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Aquatic Safety Officer Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current lifeguard certification is mandatory.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience as a certified lifeguard.
  • Swim Instructor certification is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage interpersonal relationships effectively.
  • Capable of handling various customer service challenges with tact and empathy.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding service to members and guests.
Aquatic Safety Officer Physical Requirements:
  • Engages in swimming, standing, and walking for the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Involves stooping, crawling, reaching, and kneeling for a portion of the workday.
  • Works outdoors in varying weather conditions for a significant part of the workday.
