Job Title: Patient Access Representative

About the Role:
As a Patient Access Representative at Vidant Health, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families, creating a positive and welcoming experience. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and efficient registration, scheduling, and data collection for all patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform outpatient scheduling and registration for all patients, including emergency, ambulatory, and inpatients.
  • Collect and verify patient data, documents, and signatures to ensure accurate billing and payment.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for physician offices and other customers regarding scheduling procedures.
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
  • High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher required.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of Customer Service experience required.
  • 1-2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication, detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required.
  • Basic computer skills.
