This role involves executing accounts receivable functions to guarantee prompt and precise collection of payments, daily cash reconciliation, and accurate reporting of receivables in alignment with Concentra's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Address escalated issues through effective communication with various stakeholders, including employers, insurance providers, third-party administrators, and laboratories.
  • Manage rebilling processes and draft correspondence for clients.
  • Review and monitor account aging reports to facilitate timely collections.
  • Examine documentation, reconcile discrepancies, and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct payment reconciliations with incoming receipts.
  • Prepare and disseminate periodic reports on accounts receivable and overdue accounts for management and clients.
  • Negotiate repayment terms with clients regarding overdue accounts.
  • Make informed decisions on whether to refer accounts for collection or write off.
  • Provide training to new staff and support colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, recognizing that responsibilities may evolve over time.
  • Determine when adjustments are warranted and address employer-related issues, such as misapplied or missing payments.
  • Collaborate with clinics to resolve invoicing discrepancies and secure necessary documentation.
  • Monitor rebills for outstanding balances and take appropriate actions.
  • Schedule and allocate work to meet deadlines and enhance workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

Education and Credentials

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Relevant Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in collections, preferably in occupational health.

Skills and Competencies

  • Core competencies include a service-oriented mentality, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems using logical reasoning to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose effective solutions.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, demonstrating tact and professionalism in interactions.
  • Proficient in handling sensitive and confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
