Job Overview

Vector Atomic is a pioneering company in the field of quantum technology, developing innovative devices for applications such as GPS-free navigation, geophysical exploration, and telecommunications. We are seeking a skilled Senior Electronics Technician to join our team and contribute to the assembly, testing, and integration of our cutting-edge quantum devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, test, and rework complex printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Initial board bring-up and troubleshooting
  • Integrate boards and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) modules in prototype chassis; design and build custom cabling/interfacing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related degree with 2+ years of work experience; Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering (ASEE) with 5+ years of related work experience
  • US export control laws require "U.S. persons," including U.S. citizens (born or naturalized), lawful permanent residents, and certain categories of refugees and asylees
  • Must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and collaborators, both written and verbal

Preferred Skills:

  • Precision soldering and rework of electronic boards, including small-pitch and ball grid array devices
  • Debugging digital, analog, and mixed-signal electronics
  • Integration and assembly of prototype electronics/electromechanical systems
  • Cable selection; design and fabrication of custom cables
  • Reading schematics and troubleshooting power and connectivity issues with PCB assemblies
  • Electronic test instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, pulse generators, power supplies, and voltmeters
  • Shielding, grounding, and ESD issues
  • RF systems and high-frequency cabling
  • Standard embedded interfaces, such as SPI and I2C
  • Electromechanical design of custom/semi-custom enclosures for electronic assemblies addressing issues of shielding, grounding, and thermal constraints

Compensation:

We offer market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, performance bonus, benefits, and equity. The pay range for this position is $75,000 to $105,000, including annual bonus.
