Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Tech to join our team at the Brattleboro Retreat. As a Behavioral Health Tech, you will play a vital role in providing direct supervision and patient support to children, adolescents, and adults who have been hospitalized for mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision and patient support to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities to promote their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Organize and run group programs to foster social skills and community building.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a human service related field with an emphasis on behavioral sciences, or high school diploma and preferably 2 years of related experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with co-workers and all members of the treatment team.
  • Current active VT Nursing Assistant licensure preferred.
  • Valid driver's license without any record of motor vehicle violations or convictions limiting driving privileges.

Additional Requirements for Residential and ARCC Behavioral Tech Positions:

  1. Bachelor's degree and 21 years of age, with experience working with children and youth; or high school diploma or GED and 21 years of age, with two years' experience interacting with children and youth.
  2. Valid driver's license without any record of motor vehicle violations or convictions limiting driving privileges for day or evening shifts. Valid unrestricted driver's license is preferred for overnight shifts.
