Sankofa Community Development Corporation is seeking a seasoned fundraising professional to join our leadership team as the Director of Advancement. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and strategic thinker to lead our philanthropic efforts and help drive the organization's mission forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve annual and long-term revenue goals.
  • Lead a team of development professionals in cultivating and stewarding major and corporate donors, as well as managing special events and campaigns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, prospects, and stakeholders to ensure a culture of philanthropy and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational strategies that align with the mission and vision of Sankofa CDC.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in fundraising and philanthropy, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and growth in our development efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and leading development teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or community development organization.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and other fundraising tools.
