Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Director of Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the technical design principles that steer projects from inception to completion. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and direction to team members by coordinating and delegating tasks effectively.
- Creating specifications for various construction documents.
- Designing and preparing detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings using advanced CAD and BIM software.
- Interpreting company and authority standards for all designs and layouts.
- Directing team members in the design of schematic concepts aligned with national client programs.
- Correlating and modifying data from subconsultant drawings and reports.
- Ensuring compliance with company drawing standards and CAD/BIM protocols.
- Researching design options and addressing code issues.
- Delivering exceptional customer service to team members and clients, including facilitating meetings.
- Reviewing civil, fire protection, structural, and MEP plans for architectural design coordination.
- Leading quality assurance and quality control efforts within the company.
- Providing constructive feedback and redlines for team members' work.
- Reading and interpreting construction documents accurately.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of CAD, BIM, and specifications.
- Managing the overall workflow and quality of the team's output.
- Guiding team members in their professional development and career objectives.
- Performing additional project and supervisory duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture with over 10 years of experience as a registered architect, or 20+ years of architectural experience with current registration in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience in leading a team.
- An active Architectural License.
- Preferred certifications such as CSI – CCS and/or CDT.
- LEED certification is also preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D Rendering Software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to travel as required.
