About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled K'iche language specialist to join our team at KACE. As a linguist, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission by providing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from K'iche to English.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from K'iche to English
  • Collect, analyze, identify, and decode colloquialisms and slang terms
  • Extract pertinent information and communicate it to law enforcement agents
  • Transcribe source documents and recordings from storage media
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in a professional setting
  • Minimum of one year of transcription experience in the required language
  • Knowledge of source language colloquial terms and expressions
  • Knowledgeable in SMS language, social media, and Webchat
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in the target language
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office
