About the Role

KACE is seeking a highly skilled Urdu Language Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our linguistics team, you will be responsible for performing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Urdu to English, collecting, analyzing, identifying, and decoding of colloquialisms and slang terms, extracting pertinent information and communicating that information to law enforcement agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcription and Translation: Listen to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded communications in Urdu and provide verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as it may be applicable per project.
  • Communication: Relate all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
  • Slang and Code Analysis: Contribute to a master-list of slang words and codes (used by a particular group/organization) for the duration of the project/case.
  • Voice Library Maintenance: Maintain a voice library for the duration of the project.
  • Document Transcription: Transcribe and translate pertinent calls and documents as assigned by their supervisor.
  • Court-Ready Transcriptions: Produce court-ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
  • Reference Tool Utilization: Use the various reference tools created during the project.
  • Productivity and Time Management: Maintain daily log of productivity and prioritize tasks to meet stringent deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years' experience in a professional setting OR Associate degree AND five (3) years' experience in a professional setting OR a High School Diploma AND seven (7) years of experience.
  • Language Skills: Minimum of one (1) year of transcription experience in the required language.
  • Security Clearance: Select applicants will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills in MS Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills in the target language, including correct and accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively with management and law enforcement personnel, and meet stringent deadlines.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: Employees will be required to work nights, weekends, and Holidays.
  • Security Requirements: Ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance, favorable credit check, and successfully passing a background investigation, medical, and drug screen.
