POSITION SUMMARY:
The role is designed to further the mission of PATH by assisting individuals in achieving greater independence and fulfillment as an integral team member.
The position involves collaborating with a team to deliver crisis intervention, support, safety planning, and connections to youth and families in Northeast Philadelphia, Region 1. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will offer support and insights based on your lived experiences. The program operates 24/7 throughout the year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Behavioral Health sector.
PA Peer Specialist Certification.
Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle required.
Proficiency in using an Electronic Health Record.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
COVID-19 vaccination, or willingness to receive the vaccine is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct crisis assessments, interventions, education, and support in person, alongside an assigned team member, within a specified timeframe for referrals received by DBH/CBH.
As a Certified Peer Specialist, share your lived experiences to connect with and support individuals in crisis, assisting them in developing a crisis support plan.
Employ approved evidence-based practices and tools during crisis assessment and intervention, including SAMHSA crisis intervention guidelines and resolution models.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal in nature.
