We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Clean Energy Program in New York. The successful candidate will work closely with our leadership team to conduct research and analysis in support of developing a regional strategy for engaging cities and states in the Northeastern United States.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on existing structures for interagency collaboration and identify opportunities for establishing such structures in the Northeast region.
- Research federal regulations applicable to flood insurance and identify significant regional assets in coastal areas prone to flooding.
- Collaborate with EDF economists and lawyers to research regional public service commission filings and identify regional environmental justice partners.
- Draft and finalize a report on the findings of this project and provide a briefing to the leadership team.
- Demonstrated interest in and ability to conduct independent research with limited direction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- An understanding of and commitment to Environmental Defense Fund's mission of protecting the natural environment and limiting humankind's impact on the planet.
As a Summer Intern with our Clean Energy Program, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and contribute to the development of a comprehensive strategy to facilitate decision making by utilities, regulators, and state policy makers.
