About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team at Butterball, LLC. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the facility regarding poultry safety and health programs and requirements.
  • Accident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Training and Development: Oversee the training department and employee training activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Incident Management: Manage incident corrective actions, working closely with area supervisors and engineering and maintenance departments.
  • Safety Audits: Assist in conducting facility-wide safety audits and follow-up programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Safety File Management: Maintain the plant safety file plan, ensuring readiness for annual corporate safety audits.
  • Employee Health and Wellness: Assist in directing facility-wide training topics and materials, reviewing compliance with facility, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Collect, maintain, and report safety KPI and Management Accountability Program metric information.
  • Process Safety Management: Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, working closely with the Complex Safety Manager.
  • Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene: Conduct ergonomic job analyses, identify musculoskeletal hazards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Employee Surveys and Feedback: Conduct employee surveys to identify adverse health symptoms and create project lists/action item lists for improvement.
  • Training and Development: Train personnel in ergonomic factors, improve awareness, and encourage input from supervisors and workers alike.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Environmental Health, Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Working knowledge of life-safety codes, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies, WC laws, and familiarity with occupational health.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid Certified, Basic knowledge of Industrial Hygiene practices.
Working Conditions

This role will be approximately 70% spent in a manufacturing environment, which is cold and wet, and 30% in a controlled office environment.
