Job Summary

This role serves as the Chief Administrative Officer in the absence of Hospital Administrative Staff, interfacing with all departments to solve problems and demonstrate superior communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Makes rounds on all units to support nursing and help problem solve by coaching and mentoring Charge Nurses and staff RN's.
  • Works with the Resource Staffing Department to help stabilize core staffing levels throughout the hospital.
  • Responds to and manages patient/family and physician complaints, resolving immediate issues and documenting incidents.
  • Coordinates bed management/diversion issues with the Administrator on call, Nursing Leadership, and the Patient Placement Coordinators.
  • Reviews all deaths for Medical Examiner/Coroner if appropriate and handles other related issues as needed.
  • Collaborates with Employee Health and Infection Control to provide support in enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Serves in the role of Planning Chief and temporary Incident Commander in the event of a disaster.
  • Works with Security on miscellaneous issues and collaborates with Plant Operations and Engineering on facility issues.
  • Acts as a resource and support to Nursing Management regarding policies and procedures.
  • Manages critical personnel issues in the absence of appropriate management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 3 years of Nursing experience required
  • 5 years of Nursing experience is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nursing diploma or an Associate's Degree in Nursing may be considered if the applicant signs a Memorandum of Understanding agreeing to enroll in an accredited BSN or MSN program within one year and obtain a BSN or MSN degree within four years.
Work Environment

Night shift, Greer Medical Campus, 1004 Greer Memorial Hospital, Nursing Administration department.
