Position Overview:

The Press Operator is a vital role within our manufacturing operations, responsible for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality printed materials. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the printing process.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet and exceed production targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Oversee the complete operation of the printing press, ensuring the quality of all printed materials.
  • Guide and train press assistants, enabling them to operate the press independently when necessary.
  • Manage print job setup, including the preparation of plates, ink matching, and verifying materials.
  • Ensure print quality by monitoring print position, registration, and impressions.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Return all materials to their designated locations after job completion.
  • Report any damaged or worn equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  • Understand and implement web monitoring systems and make-ready processes.
  • Adjust dot gains and densities to match proof specifications.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to perform operator-based maintenance on printing equipment.
  • Handle hazardous materials in accordance with established safety procedures.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Experience operating flexographic printing presses, particularly with film and paper.
  • A thorough understanding of printing procedures and quality assurance standards.
  • Technical knowledge of inks, colors, and film properties.
  • The ability to read and interpret work orders and specifications.
  • Proficiency in operating specific printing machinery.
  • Completion of training or apprenticeship programs related to printing operations.
