Palliative Care Provider

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a skilled Palliative Care Provider to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical patient care across the continuum to achieve quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive symptom assessments using physical exam skills and assessment tools.
  • Participate in developing treatment plans with the team physicians.
  • Collect and document patient data in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to assure continuity of care across the continuum.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, emphasizing the promotion of comfort and quality of life.
  • Utilize communication skills as a liaison for our department and between patients and other members of the healthcare team.

Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
  • Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
  • Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN or ACNP or ACNPC or ACAGNP or AGACNP or ACNPC-AG or AGACNP or AGNP or ACPNP or ANP or AGNP or AGPCNP or FNP or GNP or PNP or PMHNP or WHNP or APNP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
