COSA is in search of a highly skilled professional to fulfill the role of Chief Business and Operations Officer. This position is critical in overseeing the operational and financial frameworks that underpin the organization’s mission.
Position Overview
The Chief Business and Operations Officer will collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team to devise and execute business strategies that enhance the operational effectiveness of COSA. This role will be instrumental in leading various functions including finance, procurement, technology, and facilities management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with the executive team to set priorities that ensure equitable outcomes for all stakeholders.
- Foster collaborative relationships with diverse groups, including staff, community members, and external partners.
- Assume operational responsibilities as designated by the Executive Leadership.
- Serve as a liaison with governmental and regulatory bodies.
- Provide strategic advice on financial and operational matters to the executive team.
- Assist in the overall planning and management of the organization.
- Establish objectives for the Business and Operations divisions, providing clear guidance to teams.
- Identify and implement innovative practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to strategic discussions and decision-making.
- Prepare and present reports on financial performance and operational initiatives to the leadership team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee senior leaders and teams responsible for:
- Financial management, including budgeting and accounting.
- Business operations, encompassing procurement and logistics.
- Facilities management and maintenance operations.
- Technology infrastructure and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business management, with at least 5 years in roles overseeing finance, operations, or technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in public sector or educational organizations, particularly in large urban settings.
Proven track record in implementing shared services and leading large-scale business initiatives.
Strong ability to engage with diverse communities and drive collective goals.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a commitment to transparency and integrity.
